Moblogic.tv, “Lindsay Arrested: Yellow Journalism?”

A MobLogic.Tv é um canal de videos informativos online de Nova Iorque, onde a sua apresentadora Lindsay Campbell tem uma postura um pouco diferente do jornalistas tradicionais. Mas será menos eficaz e eticamente questionável ou devemos aceitar a acção cívica da jornalista? Neste video, podemos ver como Lindsay foi presa numa manifestação contra a violência policial no caso Sean Bell. No final ela diz: “Sim, fui presa. Porquê? Porque não quero ser a jornalista gananciosa, prefiro ser aquela que não tem medo de dar a sua opinião.” Será este o caminho? Eu concordo com a Lindsay, porque desde sempre as opiniões dos jornalistas foram expressas ou filtradas pela linha editorial dos jornais, rádios, televisões. Se isto significa que concordo também com o que a Manuela Moura Guedes faz (execravelmente), pois seja, eu tenho sempre o poder de mudar de canal.

MobLogic.Tv is journalistic vlog from New York, where it’s host Lindsay Campbell has a quite different posture than the traditional journalists. But is it less effective and ethically questionable or should we accept the journalist’s civic engagement? In this video we can see how Lidsay was arrested in a rally about police brutality in Sean Bell‘s case. In the end she says: “So, yes, i was arrested. Why? Because i don’t want to be the greedy journalist. I’d much rather be the one who’s not afraid to add my two cents.” Is this the way? I agree with Lindsay, if not only because journalists opinions have always been expressed or filtered by the editorial policies of newspapers, radios, Tv. If this also means i have to agree with other situations, so be it, i still have the power to turn the page, click away or change channel.
